Nicolas Lebel

Colonel Nicolas Lebel , after whom the French militarys Lebel rifle was named.

Nicolas Lebel was born in SaintMihiel near Verdun. Interested by the prospects of a military career he enrolled in the SaintCyr Military Academy in 1855.
